If you can’t find home insurance in Texas

These state-established programs cover homes that private insurers won’t. They’re meant as a last resort: coverage is often more limited and can cost more, so shop the private market and ask an agent first. Eligibility rules vary.

  • Limited homeowners, dwelling, condo and renters policies. Homes eligible for the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association get wind and hail coverage there instead.
